Who can sign up for Excern?
Any hauling, brokerage, or waste business — roll-off haulers, dumpster brokers, junk removal companies, porta potty and site-service operators. There is no invitation, no waitlist, and no approval step: create your account online, and your workspace is ready immediately. One truck or fifty, we’d love to have you.
Do I need both Dispatch and Broker?
No — they’re two engines on one platform. Run Dispatch alone for your own fleet, Broker alone if you’re asset-light, or both: in-house inside your coverage area, brokered everywhere else. Same customers, same billing, one login.
We already use rental software. Why switch?
Legacy systems schedule trucks. Excern does that — drag-drop board, day planner, driver app — and then does what they can’t: brokers the jobs you’d turn away, reads hauler invoices with AI, bills overages per box, and keeps every call and text on the job record.
How does asset tracking actually work?
Every container has its painted number in the system. Assign it and it’s reserved; complete the delivery and it’s on site; run the swap and the old can rides the truck until its scale ticket is recorded, then it’s back at the yard. Three states, moved automatically, with a full history per can.
Does anything auto-charge my customers?
Never. Excern detects overages — tonnage, days out, contamination — and queues them for your review with the evidence attached (the hauler invoice or scale ticket photo). You approve every charge before it touches a card.
What does it cost?
A fraction of what enterprise dumpster software charges — priced so one brokered job or one saved dry-run covers the month. Month-to-month, no setup fees. Your business subscribes directly through us; there is nothing to buy inside the mobile app. Exact plans come out soon; book a demo and we’ll walk you through it.
How long does setup take?
A day, not weeks. Import your customers and rate cards, connect payments, and you’re quoting. No IT project, no consultant.
Do my drivers need new hardware?
No — the driver experience runs on the phone in their pocket: their day’s route, status updates, photos, and signatures.
